I qualified and practised as a Medical Doctor in the UK, and was actively involved in Medical Education for undergraduates and medical trainees. I was awarded the prestigious Frederick Craven Moore Scholarship by University of Manchester where I received a PhD degree in Cell Biology (Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell-Matrix Research). I continued in academic research as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Oxford (Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine) and University of Manchester. Throughout my medical and research career, I published peer-reviewed articles on my own research in haematology, immunology, and bone and matrix disease, as well as clinical cases, in high-impact journals, including Blood, BMJ, Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, and Journal of Pathology. I also presented my work at national and international conferences.
Having a particular interest in medical writing, I pursued training in scientific technical writing and gained considerable professional writing experience as a Medical Writer. I worked closely with clinicians and pharmaceutical clients worldwide in the production of several landmark peer-reviewed publications and in setting up speaker programmes and presentations for international medical symposia.
